Thomas quietly passed away Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at Ochsner Medical Center-Baton Rouge surrounded by family members and friends. He was born July 21, 1929, in Coushatta, and grew up in Bunkie. He was a Realtor with Burns Co., an insurance Realtor and a licensed life insurance agent. He is survived by his wife, Lynda Butler; sister, Ann B. Booth, of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers-in-law, W.B. Hulsey and wife Marie, of Madison, Miss., and Kenneth E. Hulsey and wife Denise, of Hahnville; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and their spouses and children. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Visitation at Jefferson United Methodist Church, 10328 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. until memorial service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Hulen Warren. A special thanks to the doctors and MICU unit at Ochsner Medical Center and the many friends and family who prayed and supported him and Lynda throughout his brief illness. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Capital Fund of Jefferson United Methodist Church or a charity of choice.
