Thomas ("Tom") Brown, 62, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018. Tom was born in Lafayette, Alabama on August 1, 1956, and graduated from Hogansville High School in Hogansville, Georgia. He attended Auburn University before transferring to Mississippi College where he received his B.A. in Art in 1978. He married Susan Morse Brown on September 1, 1979. Tom is survived by his wife Susan Brown, son Emmett Brown and his wife Tara, grandson Levi Brown, sister Karen Dennis and her husband Tom, sister Luann Hendrix, niece Heather Burge and her husband Jason, niece Holly Prather and her husband Dale, and great-nephews Blake Burge and Nathan and Nolan Prather. He is preceded in death by his mother Betty Brown, father Travis Brown, brother-in-law John "Bubba" Hendrix, and aunt Anne Washburn McWilliams Morse. He was a longtime piping designer, most recently with Sigma Engineers and Constructors. He was a member of University Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was most recently a faithful member of The Chapel in the Oaks. He served on the Sharlo Apartment Ministry leadership team for many years and was dedicated to serving their community. Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 2 from 6-8 p.m., and on Thursday, January 3 from 12:30 p.m. until services begin at 2 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Tom's family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the NCCU at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for their care and compassion for Tom and our family.
