A longtime resident of Baton Rouge, Theresa Roques Miley passed away at home March 21, 2018.
Theresa was born in Paulina, LA on February 9, 1929. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Theresa, a devout Catholic, will always be remembered as an honest person who was kind and gentle. She had over 40 years of employment at Furlow-Laughlin Equipment Company. Her hobbies included sewing, painting, macramé, crocheting, and fishing for sac-a-lait. More than anything she loved her family. Her grandchildren forever brought a smile to her face and a sparkle in her eyes.
She is survived by her four beautiful daughters, Deborah Power (Don), Connie White (Les), Sue Trammell (Craig), and Janet Granier; ten grandchildren, Jason White (Mandi), Chris Power (Kim), Carmen Langlois (Jeremy), Michelle Marshall (Sean), Stephanie McLin (Devin), Stephen Trammell ( Kaylin), Mandy Power (Jon), Casey Myers, Sally Ball (Corey), and Emily Myers; nine great-grandchildren, Cooper, Gavin, Jillian, Chase, Cole, Tristan, Thomas, Alexandra, and Eisley; brothers, Maurice and Nelson Roques (Bea); sisters-in-law, Nancy Roques, Arline Basso, and Mary and Sarah Miley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Theresa is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce; parents, Aline and Alban Roques; parents-in-law John and Gladys Miley; sisters, Sr. Mary Juliana and Irene (Nolan) Bourgeois; brothers, Theophile (Linda), Achille (Ann), Pascal (Lucille) and Alban Joseph Roques; brothers-in-law, Charles, James and Clarence Miley; sister-in-law, Marion Roques.
The family would like to give special thanks to Lynn Temple for her compassionate care over the last few years.
Visitation will be at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 15615 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, La 70817 on Saturday, March 24th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. Phil Spano, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
