Thelma Brown Cadle, 90, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at her home. Born in Pt. Pleasant, WV and a resident of Prairieville, LA. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Cadle Craddock and husband Ron of Atlanta, GA son, Tim Cadle and wife Carla of Prairieville, LA six grandchildren eight greatgrandchildren and special sisterinlaw Mary Burns Cadle of Hurricane, WV. Preceded in death by husband, John William Cadle II her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry H. Brown her sisters, Helen Irene Brown, Vivian Ruth Brown, Opal Brown Neal, Betty Jo Shiflet, Esta Mae Barton and Barbara Allen Brown and brothers, Howard Floyd Brown and Clydie Ellis Brown. Thelma and her husband John, were charter members of Humphreys Methodist which later became Cross Lanes United Methodist Church, where she presided as President of the Womens Society. She served as Secretary of Campus Ministries at West Virginia State College. After moving to Baton Rouge, she was a KCA Board Member and resident of Kenilworth, she was honored as Citizen of the Year and Yard of the Month winner on numerous occasions. She also singlehandily began the annual Kennilworth Christmas Luminaries Celebration. She was a substitute teacher for East Baton Rouge Parish for several years, and a longtime member of Broadmoor United Methodist and the Faith Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 10230 Mollylea Dr. Baton Rouge, LA 70815, or the charity of your choice. A private graveside service will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
