Thelma Bailey

Thelma Marie Bailey, age 89, passed away on September 8, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a long time parishioner of St. Gerard and very active in the school and church activities.

Thelma is survived by her three daughters, Deborah Fernandez and spouse, Michael, Janell LaBorde and spouse, Ronald, Rachel Beebe and spouse, Chuck; her son, William G. "Bill" Bailey and spouse, Cherie; her ten grandchildren, Jason Fernandez and spouse, Courtney, Amanda L. Robertson and spouse, Ricky, Allyson LaBorde, LT Ronald LaBorde, Jr. Matthew LaBorde and spouse, Megan, Jessie Beebe, Rick Beebe, Bill Bailey Jr., Christopher Bailey, Madeline Bailey; her five great-grandchildren, Gavin Beebe, Griffin Beebe, Cole Fernandez, Anna Marie Robertson, Harper Bailey; her sister, Kathleen Deroche and spouse, Donald; and her brother, Huey Breaud and spouse, Mary Francis.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, William M. "Bill" Bailey; her parents, Robert and Alice Breaud; her four brothers, Clifford Breaud, Larry Breaud, Alfred Breaud, and Robert Breaud, Jr.; and her sister, Pearl Braud.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume on Friday, September 11, 2015, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane, from 12:00 PM until the time of services.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015, at a 1:30 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Catholic Church, officiant will be Father Matt Lorrain.

Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to the numerous caregivers for the past two years, and Amedisys Home Health and Hospice.
