Thelma Amond, born March 4, 1938, passed away Sunday, February, 14, 2016, at the age of 77. She was a native of LeCompte, LA, and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA.
She was a fun, loving, and caring, mother, maw-maw, and friend who enjoyed life to the fullest. She never met a stranger and always put others before herself. Thelma will always be remembered for having a beautiful smile, which lit up every room she entered.
Thelma is survived by her sons, Mike Amond and wife, Stacy, Steve Amond and wife, Melanie, David Amond; her daughter, Tracy Amond Walker, and husband, Gary; her grandchildren, Michelle, Kristen, Alyse, and Matthew Amond, David Amond, Jr., Blair Burger and husband, Jesse, Jevin and Jason Walker, and Shelley Taylor and husband, Jeff; her great-grandchildren, Silas Ashmore, Aubree Burger, Cody Walker, Torie LaCaze, and Kinsley Taylor; her brother, George Ford; her twin sister, Velma Messer; and her special friend, Gary Guillot.
She is preceded in death by her husband, A.J. Amond, Jr.; her mother, Gracie Powell; her daughter-in-law, Jan Amond; her sister, Emily Gomez; and her brother, Lonnie Powell.
Visiting hours will be observed on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, from 11:00 AM until the time of services.
Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at 1:00 PM.
Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Pallbearers will be, Mike Amond, Steve Amond, David Amond, Sr., Gary Walker, David Amond, Jr., Matthew Amond, Jevin Walker, Jesse Burger, and Gary Guillot.
