Terry Young

Terry Lynn Young, age 60, a resident of Central City, LA, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans.

Terry was born June 13, 1957 in Quantico, VA. She graduated from Glen Oaks High School in Baton Rouge, LA, with the class of 1974, and also graduated from Nichols State University. On January 12, 1974 she was united in marriage to Freddie W. Young for 44 years. She worked at Silverside Academy from 1995 to 2002 as a Teacher's aide when she retired to be with her family. Terry was a loving caring wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to cook and spend time with her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Central where she sang in the church choir.

She is preceded in death by her father, Caldwell Hulse, Jr.; her mother, Patricia Hulse; and her sister, Karen Christensen.

Terry is survived by her husband, Freddie W. Young of Baton Rouge; three children, Shelly (Young) Mierzwik of Watson, Stephen W. Young, and Timothy D. Young, Sr. of Central; her son-in-law, Shannon W. Mierzwik; and her twelve grandchildren, Stephanie Young, Justin Young, Ashley Mierzwik, Morgan Mierzwik, Anna Young, Emily Young, Claire Young, Gracie Young, Rhiannnon Gaudin, Layne Gaudin, Kayden Young, and Timothy D. Young, Jr.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA on Thursday, September28, 2017 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. Visitation will resume on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Resthaven from 10:00am until services at 11:00pm. Burial will immediately follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
