On July 30, 2018, Terrence Ray Gahn, Sr. passed away peacefully in his home after spending his final days surrounded by family and friends. A native of Mamou, Louisiana, Terry served as a sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Following his military service where he met his wife Beverly of Rochester, NY, he was able to move to Lafayette and complete his degree at Southwestern Louisiana University thanks to the GI Bill. Terry then moved to Baton Rouge with Beverly where they raised their six children and he enjoyed a long career of 35 plus years with The Reily Foods Company. He was a loving and generous father, but the true joy of his life were his eight grandchildren, whom he always found ways to spoil. Terry was also a devoted supporter of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady and a regular attendee of Ollie Steele Burden Chapel. He could never carry a tune, but he knew all the prayers by heart.Terry is survived by his children, Cheryl, Donna Glueck (Dary), Terrence Jr. "Buster" (Rose), Joey (Barbara), Paul, and Peter; his grandchildren, Nicholas Glueck (Kali), Traci Riley (Chris), Ben Glueck (Susie), Emily Moncla (Buck), Robert Glueck (Julie), Samantha Gahn, Alexandra Gahn, and Alexis Gahn; his 11 great-grandchildren; his godson Paul Terry Guidry; his sister Barbara Theriot (Clarence), brother Roland (Adelaide), and sister-in-law, Sue Shire. The family also wishes to thank Catherine Gahn, who provided such loving care during a difficult time, Sr. Lillian Lynch and Gerard Barrow, who were Terry's faithful friends in Christ, and Hospice of Baton Rouge. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Beverly Ade Gahn; parents, Robert Sr. and Fannie Singleton Gahn; and brothers, Robert Jr., Dennis, and Tommy. Visitation will be held at St. George Catholic Church on Thursday, August 2 from 9:30 - 11:00 am with a funeral mass to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady or St. Vincent de Paul.
