Passed from this world at 1:52 pm on Friday, November 16, 2012 after a long illness. A longtime resident of Baton Rouge, he began this life in Charleston, South Carolina on July 14, 1934. He was 78. He married the former Fay Dalier his bride of 59 years. Mr. Milligan was preceded in death by his parents, Benny Monroe Milligan and Virginia Bessie Gardner, and his nephew, Scott Milligan. Besides his wife Fay, he is survived by six children: Trudy Mounce Steven, Jeannette Saal Jeff, Linda Milligan Wayne, Carolyn Ross Kirk, Mark Milligan Lauren, and Paul Milligan Toni. He leaves nine grandchildren. Mr. Milligan is also survived by his brother, Ronald Milligan Irish, and one niece and two nephews. Mr. Milligan was an Air Force Veteran during the Korean War, a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University and retired from a long career in the foreign car repair business. He was awarded a Technician of the Year award from MercedesBenz, served as a Boy Scout leader, and for 30 plus years worked as a Marshal for the Louisiana State University Tigers football and baseball home games, and a longtime member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Mr. Milligans hobbies include, woodworking, reading, automotive restoration, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed history, storytelling, and NASCAR. Mr. Milligans celebration of life services will include: visitation, Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 58 pm and will resume on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 9 am until funeral service at 10 am, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
