Taylor Russell

June 17, 1985 — May 5, 2012

Taylor Davidson Russell, of Baton Rouge, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the age of 26. He will be remembered by friends and family as a loving, strong, adventurous, sweet and charismatic young man who had a big heart, was fun loving and always had a smile on his face. Taylor was the type of person who would do anything for anyone at anytime and those who came into contact with him loved him immediately. He was an avid hunter since the age of 8 and followed in his fathers footsteps with a love of baseball. Taylor graduated from Redemptorist High School and played baseball at LSU Eunice. He worked as a contractor at Russell Pool Company, his familys business, with his father, Keith Russell, cousin Lee Russell and uncles Tommy and Darrell Russell. He is survived by his loving parents, Keith and Tina Russell his sister, Morgan Russell fianc, Megan Whittington, who is expecting the couples baby girl, Cameron Taylor Russell, on May 28th grandparents, Roy and Betty Russell and Bettye Morell uncles and their spouses, Tommy and Brenda Russell, Darrell and Lisa Russell, and Johnny and Peggy Morell aunts and their spouses, Vicky Morell Hand and Cayce, Suzanne Morell Berry and Jim, Mona Russell Sappenfield and Bill, and Beverly Kerns cousins, Brad Hand, Colby Hand, Kyle Hand, Hunter Hand, Reillie Hand, Chase Berry, Clay Berry, Noah Morell, Seth McCoy, Lee Russell, Cynthia Russell Segal, Elizabeth Russell Hess, Jessica Sappenfield, Jacquelyn Sappenfield, Allison Russell Crump, Sarah Russell Mahaffey, Rebecca Russell, Camille Russell and numerous friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, John Robert Morell, Sr. and his aunt and godmother, Teri Morell.Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will resume on Friday, May 11th, from 12 noon until religious services at 2 pm. Burial will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Please visit www.resthavenbatonrouge.com to leave condolences to the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Taylors honor for his daughter to the Cameron Taylor Russell Scholarship Fund at Whitney Bank. Tina and Keith would like to express their gratitude for the tremendous outpouring of support from family and friends and the vigilant efforts of George White, the West Baton Rouge, Livingston and Tangipahoa Parish Sheriffs offices, Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries and the United States Coast Guard.
