Sylvia Allen

Sylvia Margret Allen, age 64, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. She was born on December 19, 1951, in Goppingen, Germany.

Sylvia graduated from college in Germany with a BA in finance. She was working for the German Government when she met Robert Allen, Jr. Sylvia followed Robert back to the United States and in June of 1976 they married in Texas. She worked as an office manager for many years before becoming the Vice President of Finance for Material Containment, Inc. which she operated with Robert from 1990 until retiring in 2015.

Sylvia is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert Allen, Jr.; son, Gregory H. Allen of Texas; and brother, Hahns Raupp and his wife Tina of Germany.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hahns and Stephany Raupp.

A loving mother and wife, Sylvia was active with St. Frances and Redemptorist while Gregory was in school.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70817, from 1:00 pm until services at 3:00 pm.
