Susan Schillage

Susan Lynn (Zagone) Schillage, age 62, passed away on December 8, 2020 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Susan is survived by her mother, Patricia (“Pat”) Zagone, son, Michael, daughter-in-law, Julie, grandchildren, Ethan and Savannah, two brothers, John Jr. and Jeff, sister, Polly, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Susan was born on June 3, 1958 in Monroe, Louisiana to John Anthony Zagone, Sr. and Pat. Susan graduated from St. Frederick High School and attended Northeast Louisiana University.

She and her then-husband, Mike Schillage, owned and operated Frank & Janie’s Seafood Restaurant in West Monroe, Louisiana. Susan continued her passion and knowledge of the seafood industry through sales.

Susan was a devoted mother to Michael. She was blessed with two wonderful grandchildren, who brought her so much joy and happiness. Susan enjoyed cooking and traveling with her friends to their next beach destination. Susan’s friends were loved as family and held a special place in her heart. Her fierce love for her family was only outweighed by her faith in God.

A visitation service will be held on Thursday, December 10 at Resthaven Funeral Home on Jefferson Highway from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 11 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Baton Rouge.
