Susan Fabre

Susan Clair Fabre, 53, of Baton Rouge, passed away from pancreatic cancer on Wednesday, July 24, 2013. She was born on April 23, 1960 in San Diego, California. Susan was a Neonatal RNC at Womans Hospital for 27 years. She was the Baton Rouge Chapter Coordinator for AHNA, and also well known in the community for initiating an annual blessing of the hands for healthcare workers. More recently, she became a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner and volunteered at the Carpenter House. Susan was the Executive Vice President and founding member of The Red Stick Peacemakers, who organize an annual World Peace Day event. She will forever be known for her contagious laugh. Susan is survived by her father, Harold Fabre her son, Ben Bourque and wife Katie her daughter, Christy Yander and husband Layne her grandchildren, Benny, Jonathan, and Sebastian Bourque her siblings, John Fabre and wife Annie, Cindy Armstrong, Allen Fabre and wife Kimberly, Mary Fry and husband Rick and many nieces and nephews. Susan is preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Schexnayder Jones and nephews, Adam and Ian Fabre. A memorial service will be held on family property at 59020 Augusta Road, White Castle, LA 70788 on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, 1111 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage, NY 11714 in Susan Fabres name.
