Steven, an avid outdoorsman, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at age 43, doing what he loved: hunting with his beagles. A resident and native of Baton Rouge, he was a dedicated husband, father, son, brother and friend. Steve was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served aboard the battleship USS Iowa during her darkest hours in 1989. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Wednesday, Jan. 12, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife, Dr. Shana Lewitt Corvers mother, Kathleen Armoney father and stepmother, William Bill and Angela Corvers two daughters, Elise and Madeline son, Chase brother, Thomas Corvers sister, Mia Wallace and husband Joel brothersinlaw, Mark and wife Terri Lewitt, and Geoff Ellett and Aaron Ellett inlaws, Dr. Chad Ellett and Dr. Alberta Ellett mothersinlaw, Cobie Vondeling and Sueann Blumenthal special uncle, Jimmy Finigan godparents, Jean and Dotty Babin and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Aubrey and Emily Corvers and Dot and Eldridge Armoney sister, Gina Lea Cangelosi motherinlaw, Sharon Lewitt and grandmotherinlaw, Lillian Lewitt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA or your local animal shelter, St. Vincent de Paul, St. Andrews Methodist Church or the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.
