Steven Brown

Steven Brown, age 56, a resident of Prairieville, LA passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018.

Steven was a graduate of Central High School and was known as "the calm problem solver" at a job he loved so much as an Instrumentation and Controls Supervisor at Entergy Corp at River Road Nuclear Plant. He loved hunting and fishing, and had a passion for creating custom fishing rods. Steven's happiest pastimes were cooking his unmatched jambalaya and crawfish etoufee, spending time with his family, especially his grandkids, and was devoted to his beloved dog, Cammie. In his own words, "Cancer will not define the person that I am." We choose not to remember him by this illness, but by his gentle heart, generous nature and striking blue eyes.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Diane Pitre Brown; daughters, Charli Brown (Dustin Leonard), Tiffany Hayes and son-in-law Jason, Rebecca Normand and son-in-law Nathan, and Allison Reed (Brandon Babineaux); brother, Hal Brown (Carl Shelley); sister, Rickie Bliss (Bill); mother, Betty Brown; grandchildren, Lillian, Gabriella, Anderson, Harrison, June, Jocelyn, Brynn, and River; niece, Angela Coates; and nephew, Todd Elkins.

Steven is preceded in death by his father, Carvin Brown.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume at Resthaven on Monday, May 21, 2018 from 12:00 PM until funeral service at 2:00 PM.
