Stephen Vargo

A resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Kalkaska, Mich., he died at 11:15 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at Ollie Steele Burden Manor. He was 83 and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific. Memorial service at Parkview Baptist Church, 11795 Jefferson Highway, on Saturday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Marlin Riverman. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Foster Vargo and her daughter, Sheila Willie, both of Baton Rouge; son, Stephen E. Vargo and wife Julie, of Chicago; granddaughter, Danielle Vargo; and sister, Julie Righettini, of Riverside, Calif. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Vargo; wife, Nancy L. Jordan Vargo; and a brother, Joe Vargo. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, is in charge of arrangements.
