Stephen Paul Gardner Henry passed away on Wednesday, March 20. 2024, at the age of 53. He was born October 2, 1970, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Arthur Leonard Henry and Lynda Shaver Henry. After graduating from Trafton Academy, he received a full-ride football scholarship to Southeastern University.
Stephen was the owner/president of the Henry Agency with Allstate Insurance. He later opened and operated Heritage Pools & Outdoor Living. Sports were a vital part of Stephen’s life. He never missed an LSU football game, enjoyed skydiving, and spent many nights and weekends with his friends on the sands at Mango’s Beach Volleyball. He was a member of the Baton Rouge Ancient Athletes Society (BRAAS).
He is preceded in death by his father; his sisters, Vicky Carol Gardner and Elizabeth Ann “Liz” Johnson; and his nephew, Scott Huye. Stephen is survived by his mother; his beloved daughter, Brynn Marie Henry; his siblings Linda Henry, Larry Henry, Hal Henry, Tracy Gardner Singleton and Bryan Gardner; as well as numerous other loving family and friends.
Stephen loved hosting crawfish boils for friends and lunch dates with his daughter. He made friends with ease and was always ready for a good time! We will miss him and forever cherish the memories we have.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
