A native of Baton Rouge, she died at 6:50 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, at her residence in Hitchcock, Texas. She was 55. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Monday, April 14, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and in the chapel Tuesday from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Milford Walters. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her husband, Sidney R. Mascarella Jr.; three sons, Hart, Heath and Stephen Walker; stepson, Timothy Mascarella, and stepdaughter, Cammy Mascarella; three sisters, Penny Ellis and husband Carl, Jennifer Guy and husband Mike and Letita Beraud; brother, Toby Hooker; father, Herbert Hooker, of Grand Isle; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Christine and Sidney Mascarella Sr., of Baton Rouge; sisters-in-law, Debra Lawson, of Baton Rouge, and Mona Mascarella, of Walker; 17 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Lora and Young Buehrig, of Victoria, Texas; and special lifetime friend, Lee Bonacorso, of Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Simmons; stepdaughter, Angela Mascarella Raguso; and brother-in-law, Rudolph Mascarella. Pallbearers honored to serve will be Cody Walker, Mike Guy, Toby Hooker, Timmothy Mascarella, Shane Mascarella and Daimen Newsom. She will be missed by everyone who loved her. She was one of a kind.
