Sidney Tomlinson, a longtime resident of Shreveport, LA., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at her daughters home in Sunshine, La., after a long struggle with Alzheimers. She lived in Shreveport from 1939 to 2002 and resided in Sunshine, LA from 2002 until passing. She retired from Caddo Parish School System in 1978. Visitation at Resthaven funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson HW, Baton Rouge, La., on Saturday Oct., 27, 2012 from 4 p. m. to 6 p. m., and on Sunday from 1 p. m. until service at 2 p. m. conducted by Pastor Elmo Winters. Graveside service on Tuesday Oct., 30, 2012 at 12 noon in Centuries Cemetery in Shreveport, LA. She is preceded in death by her mother Lillie Dukes Boyett her husband John F. Tomlinson her son, Jack Tomlinson, her brother, T.J. Boyett, and her sisters, Mabel Kalifeh, Merle George, and Marie McCullough. She is survived and terribly missed by her loving daughters Grace Morgan, Loraine Roy and husband, Josue Ramirez, of Sunshine grandchildren Joe Hagamaker of Mobile, Ala., Jason Tomlinson of New Orleans, LA., Sarah Tomlinson Bueno of Corpus Christi, TX., and Chase, Sarah, and Emily Roy of Baton Rouge and two great grandchildren Kaitlin Hagamaker of Mobile, Ala., and Weston Michael Roy of Geismar, LA. Ms. The family would like to thank Generations Hospice for their dedication to Ms. Sidney during her last years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palmers Home for Children where Sidney spent her childhood in Columbus, MS.
