A homemaker and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. She was 80. Visiting at St. George Catholic Church on Friday, Jan. 16, from 10:30 a.m. until religious service at 12:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Frank Bass. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by a daughter, Carol Sanderlin, of Lafayette; two sons, Gary Penouilh and wife Susan, of Baton Rouge, and Noel Penouilh, of Memphis, Tenn.; sister, Blanche Fontenot, of Eunice; brother, Earl Blalock, of Baton Rouge; and three grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Jessica and Alexis. Preceded in death by her husband, Hebert Pete Anthony Penouilh; and parents, Murphy and Clara Blalock. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Catholic Charity Fund.
