Shirley James

To my dearest family and friends, some things I'd like to say, but first of all, to let you know that I arrived in heaven okay. Here I rejoice with God and all our relatives and friends. There are no tears, pain or sadness, only eternal love. Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight, remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night. The day I had to leave you when my life on Earth was through, God picked me up, hugged me and said, ‘I welcome you.'

Shirley Joyce Reynolds James, age 70, passed away on October 21, 2015.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 48 years, Douglas James; her son, Darren James and wife, Jennifer; her grandchildren, Darby James and Jace James; and her sisters, Gayle Rodriguez and husband, A.J., and Penny Watts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Miller George Reynolds, Jr. and Josephine Newman Reynolds; her son, Douglas James, Jr.; her brother, Sonny Reynolds; and her brother-in-law, Venice Watts.

The family request that visiting hours be observed on Monday, October 26, 2015, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway from 11:00 AM until the time of services.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home at 1:00 PM.

Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Jed Morris, Dr. James Craven, IV, Dr. N. Joseph Deumite and Dr. Raynold Corona for their outstanding care.
