Shirley Jackson

Shirley Theresa Jackson, a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on January 10, 2024. She was born on December 20, 1929, in Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana, to Edmond Romain Crochet and Lena Marguerite LeBlanc.

Shirley was known for her nurturing spirit and unwavering dedication to her family. She found joy in creating a warm and loving home for her husband of 72 years, Ralph Delmas Jackson, and their 6 children.

In addition to being a dedicated mother and wife, Shirley had a passion for gardening. Throughout her adult life, she became an expert flower gardener, nurturing beautiful blooms that mirrored the love she cultivated within her family.

Shirley leaves behind cherished memories for her surviving family members: her husband, Ralph Delmas Jackson; sons, Dale Jackson, and Brent Jackson; daughters, Sharon Trotti (Larry), Robbin Purcell (Bill), Cindy Armstrong (Mark), and Catherine Bergeron (Jeff); sister, Marie Louise Crochet; brothers, Welton Pierre Crochet, and Ruffin Peter Crochet; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Lena Crochet; sisters, Pearl Marie Crochet, Ida Mae Crochet, and Lillian Marie Crochet; and brothers, Lavoide Joseph (Buddy) Crochet and Roger Joseph Crochet Sr.

Services for Shirley Theresa Jackson will be held at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 Saint George Dr. Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, January 18^th, 2024. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with funeral mass to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place following the service at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. The family would like to invite friends and family to a reception at Resthaven Funeral Home following the graveside service.
