Born and raised in New Orleans and a longtime St. Bernard resident, Shirley spent the last 16 years in Baton Rouge. A loving mother and doting grandmother, Shirley was a very alert 92 year old who entertained all with her remarkable memory and stories of life in NOLA and her many trips taken with her late husband, Leroy Henry Daigle. She left behind a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda & D. Barry Pipes, two grandsons and their families: Donald Henry & Nyla Pipes, children, Gage & Vivianna and James Windsor & Naomi Pipes, daughter, Bailey. Also, nieces and nephews, Stephen Daigle, Tim Daigle, Kim K. Lukinovich, A. Eric Kitto, Julie K. Wilkerson and their families. Her only sibling and his wife, Armand E. & Brenda Butker Kitto predeceased her.
Visitation will be held 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016 at St Patrick Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane, BR, with Mass at noon. At 10:45 a.m., Rosary will be led by Knights of Columbus & KC Ladies Auxiliary of which she was a member. Shirley will be interred on Monday in NOLA in a private ceremony. The family wishes to thank the staff of Landmark for the care they gave Shirley. Also, thanks to Gladys Kahl for all the special treats she cooked for Shirley. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to your favorite charity or St Patrick Church.
