Sherry John Scott

Sherry John Scott passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023, at his home. He was 75 years old. Born November 15, 1947, in Little Calliou, Louisiana.

He is survived by his adoring wife, Linda Salemi Landry Scott; step-daughters, Tammy Templet Richbourg, Kim Templet Harlan, and Rita Autin; step-grandchildren, Kaelin Autin and Jordan Senn; brother, Sandy Scott and wife, Cathy; and a very special life long friend, Nathan “Boo” Adams.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Scott, Jr. and Oena Eschete Scott; brother, Dale Jerome Scott; and first wife, Nicki Martinez Scott.

Sherry graduated from South Terribonne High School in Bourg, Louisiana. Soon after, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in Viet Nam. He later went into the oyster and shrimp business with his daddy and brother, Gale. After the death of his daddy 20 years later, Sherry sold the business and went to work for Cox Communications until he retired.

Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday, May 6, 2023, beginning at 10:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM.

The family greatly appreciates the excellent care, compassion, and support given to Sherry by Clarity Hospice, with special thanks to nurse Cherie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to one of Sherry’s special charities, St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, The Shriner’s, or Samaritans Purse.
