It is with heavy hearts we announce Sherry Palmer Haley, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the age of 77. Sherry was born on October 23, 1947, in Biloxi, Mississippi, the daughter of the late John Horace and Geraldine Etherton Palmer.
Sherry was known for her bright smile, infectious laughter, and generosity and kindness to everyone. As a long-time Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church member, she found solace through her faith and Scripture. She also enjoyed many joyful moments at the Shenandoah, Sherwood Forest, Greystone, and Old Waverly Country Clubs, where she shared her love of golf and laughter with friends. A woman of many passions, Sherry adored traveling with her husband and her close friends known as the “Queen Bees,” proudly earning the title “Queen Bee” herself. Above all, Sherry loved spending time with her family and friends, creating many treasured memories for us all to smile back on. Sherry was deeply loved as Mawmaw. She had a big heart for those in need, often reaching out to bless single moms in her community.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Geraldine Palmer, and her brother, Gerald Palmer.
Sherry is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, George J. Haley Jr.; daughters, Debra Leigh Dalgo, Terri Michelle Pierce (Robby), and Brandi Haley Denn (Greg); son, George J. Haley III; sisters, Diane, Patti (Chuck), Debbie, and Lynda (Doug); brothers, John Palmer (Shawndee), and Randy Palmer (Denise); grandchildren, Alexandra, Randi, Truitt, Carleigh (Britton), Olivia, Kale (Maegan), Sarah (David), Matthew Joseph, Sarah Grace, Jonathon, and Michelle; great-grandchildren, Roman, Lennox, Eisley, Waverly, Isabelle, Lucy, Cecilia, David, Alice, Camille, and expected baby number seven; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
