Shelton Dow, Jr.

Shelton Dow, Jr. passed away peacefully on Friday, June 18, 2010. Shelton was a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Franklin County, Missisippi. He was 83 years old. He was the beloved husband of June Ervin Dow for 60 years. Shelton will forever be remembered by his childrem, a son,Bruce Dow a daughter, Lisa Dow Posey and husband, Jerry and 5 grandchildren and their spouses whom he adored, Shane Layla Dow Helen Henderson Volpe and husband, Paul Reid Henderson, Jeffrey BaisdenDow and Johnny Dow and 3 treasured greatgranchildren, Tarra, Julie and Wyatt Dow, a sister, Diane Dow Clopton. Preceded in death by his parents, Shelton and Ruby Dow and 1 brother, Cecil Dow. A devoted Christian, he loved being with his family and freinds especially watching his hometown sporting teams. Shelton touched the lives of many people with his smile and kind heart and will be greatly missed by all. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Pacific during World War II. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Friends and family are invited to attend services on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Resthaven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, La. Visitation will be at noon until the service time following at 2pm. Burial to follow.
