"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Tim. 4:7). Shelby Ferrell Spruell, Sr. passed away at the Carpenter House on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the age of 87.
Shelby served in the U.S. Army. He retired with the State of Louisiana after working as a Civil Engineer with LA DOTD.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nadine Spruell; children, Ferrell Spruell and fiancée Kim and Alisa Spruell Morris; grandchildren, John Spruell and fiancée Shelly, Brittany Morris Wilson and husband Dusty, Gatlin Morris, and Mary Brighton Elkins and husband Keith; and great-granddaughters, Whitley, Mary Wren, and Hadley Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Boatner and Cleo Spruell; and brother, Ronald K. Spruell.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Pallbearers will be John Spruell, Gatlin Morris, Dusty Wilson, Keith Elkons, Lonnie Morris, Jonathan Myers and Chad Barrett. Honorary pallbearer Ronald Cardinal.
