Sharon “Jeanell” Lindsey, a beloved member of the Baton Rouge community, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the age of 80. She was born on October 21, 1942, in Savannah, Georgia to Hardy and Muriel Howell.
Jeanell was the co-owner of Lindsey’s Space Walk and Amusements with her husband, Buddy, where they were able to provide countless families with laughter and memories by their dedication to their job. She held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and treasured every moment she got to share with them. She was also a longtime member of Healing Place Church and found solace and strength within the church community. Her memory will be forever cherished by the many lives that she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Buddy Lindsey, Sr.; their son Buddy Lindsey, Jr.; and their grandson Mark Waghalter. Jeanell is survived by her daughters, Sherlyn Lindsey Waghalter and husband Sam, and Melissa Lindsey Bezet and husband Larry; her beloved grandchildren, Brian Waghalter and wife Cristina, Caroline Waghalter and Nicolas Bezet; as well as her nieces and nephews in Savannah, Georgia that she adored.
The family invites friends and extended family to a Graveside Service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge.
