A retired advertising manager with radio stations WIBR and WYNK and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at Hospice of Baton Rouge - the Carpenter's House. He was 91 and a native of Teague, Texas. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday after 9 a.m. Graveside service at 10 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Mat Surber of Istrouma Baptist Church, in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife, Anne S. Erwin; daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Alan Cone; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory S. and Terry Erwin; and two grandchildren, Amy Dunn and G. Scott Erwin Jr. He was active in the Baton Rouge Little Theatre and was a retired lieutenant colonel and veteran of World War II. He was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church and was director of their television ministry. He was also a member of Kiwanis.
