Sarah A. Doss

Sarah Elizabeth Allen Doss passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the age of 95. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee to George Locke and Marvin Anna Allen. 

After graduating High School, Sarah served her country in the United States Women’s Air Force. She later worked as a secretary and devoted her talents as a wife and mother. She was a member of Jefferson Baptist Church. Sarah loved to dance, was a great cook, and loved going to the beach. Sarah also loved spending time with her grandkids, as well as with her cat, Ming.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 44 years, James Thomas Doss, Jr., who passed in 2000.

Sarah is survived by her son, James Allen Doss and wife, Darlene Fowler Doss; her grandchildren, Grayson Allen Doss and wife, Edie Wagner Doss, Melissa Darlene Carley and husband, John-Michael Carley, and Joshua Blake Doss; and her great-grandchildren, Matilda Jane Doss, Penelope Olive Doss (Poppy), and Josalyn Allen Doss (Josie).

The family would like to give a very special thank you to Rhonda Matthews, Angie Girtley, and Ann Cunningham who took great care of MawMaw Sarah in her home, and to the Hospice of Baton Rouge.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. in Baton Rouge beginning at 12:30PM. The Funeral Service will begin at 2:30 PM. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
