Sandra McCollum Rikhoff, 78, of Baton Rouge, La. passed away on June 18, 2021 at home with her family. She was born on September 11, 1942 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to the late Ernest “Pete” and Mildred “Doll” McCollum.
Sandy was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy and St. John Mercy School of Nursing, both in St. Louis, Missouri. Her greatest joys were her family, knitting, crossword puzzles, cruises and nursing. She began her career as an obstetrical nurse and finished it as a hospice nurse. She actively participated in Crocheting for a Cause where she crocheted plastic bags into sleeping mats for the homeless.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stephen Rikhoff; her sister, Sherry Mayberry; and her brothers, Mack and Michael McCollum.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynn (Mike) Kolokowsky and Amy Rikhoff; her son, Robert “Bobby” (Tracie) Rikhoff; her granddaughters, Anna and Kathleen “Kate” Kolokowsky; and her grandsons, Cody and Cullen Rikhoff.
There will be a visitation held on Friday, June 25th at 9:30am at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1242 Brogdon Lane, Baton Rouge, La. with the funeral Mass to follow at 11:00am.
The family would like to extend its thanks to Audubon Hospice and Lake Sherwood Village. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the American Cancer Society.
