Sandra M. Daigle, beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at the age of 81. Sandra was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, on December 25, 1943, daughter of the late Elaine W. Mitchell and Ray A. Mitchell Sr. She worked at the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for 30 years.
Sandra's life was a true celebration of passion and interests. She had a remarkable talent for baking mouthwatering cakes that sweetened many gatherings and celebrations. An avid fishing enthusiast, she found peace and happiness by the water's edge, often sharing laughs and stories with those lucky enough to join her. Her love for boating allowed her to enjoy the beautiful outdoors, and her enthusiastic support for LSU basketball showcased her vibrant spirit and dedication.
Sandra is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Edward Daigle Sr.; her parents; and son-in-law Scott Dick.
She is survived by her daughter Lori Dick; son Edward L. Daigle Jr. (Carlynne); brother Ray A. Mitchell Jr. (Sharon); grandchildren Ray (Lyndsey), Katlyn, Joseph (Emily), Michael, Aubrey, and Brayden; and sister-in-law Dolores Martin.
The family would like to invite all who knew and loved Sandra, to join them as we commemorate her life. A visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral home on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 1:30pm until 2:30pm, a graveside service will follow in the mausoleum at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Amber, and the entire staff at Landmark Nursing Home for their exceptional care and support.
