Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed to Heaven at 5:10 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center after a hard fight with cancer for almost three years. She was a retired police officer with the Baton Rouge City Police Department, where she served 10 years before taking a medical retirement. She was born on July 6, 1944, in Baton Rouge. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Sunday, June 7, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Monday, June 8, at 10 a.m. until celebration into Heaven by the Rev. Ted Long at 11 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her husband of 30 years, Lynn J. Cambre, of Baton Rouge; children and their spouses, Cheryl and Andrew Holick, of Richmond, Va., Sharon DeVine, and Jonathan and Francis Cambre, all of Denham Springs, Jori Cambre, and Patrick and Cathy Cambre, all of Roanoke, Va.; brother and his spouse, Donald and Jean Little, of Baton Rouge; half-brother, Kenny Hotard, of Colorado; half-sister, Jessica Hotard, of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Christian and Wade McKann, of Baton Rouge, Brannon Causey, of Denham Springs, Leslie, Beverley and Alexandra Trinkle, of Richmond, Va., Anna, Lilly and Hunter Cambre, all of Denham Springs, Tamara, Beth and Scott Cambre, all of Roanoke; great-grandchildren, Madison and Micheal McKann, of Baton Rouge, and Christopher Cambre, of Roanoke; mother-in-law, Blanche Kitty Cambre, of Baton Rouge; three brothers-in-law, David and wife Susan Cambre, of Galvez, Glynn and wife Patsy Cambre, and Gary and Molly Cambre, all of Baton Rouge; and sister-in-law, Jacinta and husband Buddy Pierce, of Opelousas. Preceded in death by her parents, Arthur F. Little and Velora Gremillion Little Hotard; a grandchild, Wesley Cambre; father-in-law, Joseph D. Cambre Jr.; and several aunts and uncles. Memorial donations may be made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Special thanks to Dr. Fredrick Billings, Dr. Mary Sanders, P.A., Sandra Knight and all the nurses of the chemotherapy and radiation units, who all became more friends than health providers. Thanks also to all the staff in the MICU unit at the hospital. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Cambre, Patrick Cambre, Glenn Cambre Jr., Donnie Little, Joseph Cambre and Wade McKann.
