Samuel Newell

Samuel Wright Newell passed peacefully in the arms of family on Feb. 18, 2017, after being born earlier that day.

Samuel is the son of Jayson and Beth Newell, and the twin brother of Joshua Tyler Newell. He is celebrated by paternal grandparents, Joe and Judy Newell of Ridgeland, MS; and maternal grandparents Sam and Susan Richardson of Vancleave, MS. Samuel gave the world a lifetime of love during his short time on earth and is celebrated by paternal great-grandparents Betty Newell and Charlene Scantlin.

He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Joseph Newell, Sr. and Jimmy Scantlin; and maternal great-grandparents Donal and Audrey Snyder, and James and Geraldine Richardson. Samuel is also celebrated by his uncles and aunts, Bill and Christy Richardson, Jeff and Jessica Thames, and Joshua Newell and Jana Kay Newell; and by cousins Hallie Kay Thames and Elizabeth Richardson.

A Memorial will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, 930 North Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70802. Visitation begins at 11:00 a.m. with a funeral at noon. Afterwards, a private burial will be held for family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the March of Dimes.
