Samuel Guillory

October 7, 1999 — October 9, 2017

Samuel Christopher Guillory passed away at the age of 18, only 2 days after his 18th birthday, at his home in Port Allen. He is finally at peace after a long battle with depression and anxiety. He was at his happiest when he was spending time with his "squad" of friends, laughing at memes online with his sister, and traveling with his family. He enjoyed music, especially 90's grunge and classic rock, hunting with his dad and uncles, playing video games with his friends, and hiking, especially in the Texas Hill Country and Puerto Rico. He loved playing with his dogs, especially "Bonbon", and found peace walking and exploring outdoors, especially watching the sunsets over the cane fields. We were blessed with the gift of loving him and being loved by him for 18 years. He was a devoted and loving son, brother and friend, and will be terribly missed by so many.

He is survived by his parents, Dr. Lalania Schexnayder Guillory and Shane Guillory and his sister, Sophia Belle Guillory of Port Allen; his grandparents, Kathleen Zumo Demourelle, Glenn Demourelle (Maw Maw Kat and Pop Pop) of Port Allen, Connie Stroderd Guillory of Zachary and preceded in death by his grandfathers, Craig John Schexnayder of Palmetto and Donald Guillory of Port Barre. His godparents are Marie Alexis Guillory Veillon of Carencro and Adam Tate of Austin, TX. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins, including, Craig Schexnayder, Jr., Laurence Schexnayder, Nestor "Tiger" Guillory and his wife Stephanie, Lance Guillory and his wife Stephanie, Clint Guillory and his wife Hollie, Griffin Guillory and his wife Kristy, Marie Alexis Guillory Veillon and her husband Jason Veillon, Savri Degatur and her husband Charles "Chuck" Degatur, Amber Guillory, Matthew Guillory, Logan Guillory, Ruel Guillory, Ellis Guillory, Shep Guillory, Sullivan Veillon, Charlotte Degatur, Jane Degatur, Evie and Tim Tate, "Uncle" Mark and Judy Johnson. He attended Sacred Heart School and Port Allen High and is survived by a devoted group of close friends, especially Jesse Kelley.

When Sam obtained his driver's license, he was proud to have signed up to be an organ donor. He would be glad to know that his organs were able to be harvested to help many others.
