The youngest of 9 children, Sadie Marie Leblanc Ortis was born December 7th, 1939 in Morganza LA to parents Louis and Marie Yetta Lejeune Leblanc. With the passing of Sadie, a generation of love, caring, family, and togetherness is completed, and passed to the next to continue the legacy left by this great family.
Sadie was a great and loving wife, as well as a caring mother and friend. It seemed her goal in life was to always make sure everyone else was comfortable before she was. As like the rest of her family, her cooking was so special to not only her but all of those around her. Family would look so forward to her homemade hamburgers, seafood gumbo, stuffed crabs, etc.
Every Christmas she would make homemade chocolate turtles for her son's customers which was delivered with love across the south. Every New Years she made that special Leblanc garlic dip that her family loved so much.
Sadie is survived by her son and daughter in law John Paul and Pam Labasse Ortis, Her daughter and son in law Connie Marie and David Kennedy. Three grandchildren Robert Kennedy, Meagan Kennedy Mills with husband Keegan. Jonathan Patrick Ortis with his wife Allison. One great grandchild Addison Mills. She is also survived by her sister in law Shirly Bougeois Leblanc, Mary Ortis Breeden and husband Champ, as well as close friends Joyce Naquin, Leisha Edwards and neighbors Doby Murphy , and Gibson and Val Gant . She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that loved her so much and her feelings were proudly returned.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband John A. Ortis, Her mother and father Louis and Marie Yetta Lejeune Leblanc. Sisters Shirley Leblanc, Dova Lafield, Marie Andre, Melba Cazes, Anita Muguira, Brothers included Lester Leblanc, Rudolph Leblanc, and Numa Leblanc, as well as various nieces and nephews.
In speaking to so many people, we cannot begin to imagine the amount of hope, love and caring Sadie gave to so many of those touched by her. She will be missed by so many.
