Ryan Christopher Phillips, a life-long Baton Rouge resident, passed away on November 17, 2023. Ryan was born on December 18, 1981, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was a beloved husband, father, son, and brother whose presence will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As a Senior Recruiter for Cajun Industries, Ryan dedicated his career to helping others find meaningful employment opportunities. His commitment to his work extended beyond the office walls as he touched countless lives through his unwavering support and mentorship.
Ryan's educational foundation was laid at Christian Life Academy in Baton Rouge. He later pursued higher education at Louisiana State University, where he demonstrated his passion for learning and personal growth. Among one of Ryan’s many accomplishments was his position on the 2003 LSU Fighting Tigers football team. This membership symbolized his dedication and unwavering commitment to both teamwork and excellence.
While Ryan's professional and academic achievements were commendable, they paled in comparison to the love and devotion he had for his family. A doting father, Ryan took great delight in spending time outdoors with his children. Fishing trips and hunting adventures were treasured opportunities for him to bond with his son, Jackson. Ryan’s daughter, Aubrey, shared her father's love for movies and dancing—precious moments they cherished together that forever live in their hearts.
Ryan Christopher Phillips will be remembered as a compassionate and loving individual who made a lasting impact on the lives of those around him. His radiant smile, kind heart, and gentle spirit will forever be etched in the memories of his family and friends.
Ryan is preceded in death by his uncle, Richard Paul Chenevert; and both his maternal grandparents, Henry Myrile Chenevert and Esther Ann McHardy Chenevert; and paternal grandparents, Leonard and Annie Ancar Phillips. Ryan is survived by his wife, Kristen Dixon Phillips; son, Jackson Ryan Phillips; daughter, Aubrey Shay Phillips; mother, Denise Chenevert Phillips; father, Ivan Jay Phillips; and brother, Benjamin Colin Phillips.
To honor Ryan's life, a visitation has been scheduled at Resthaven Funeral Home on November 22, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM. These gatherings will provide an opportunity for all who knew Ryan to come together, share their cherished memories, and find solace in one another during this difficult time.
The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful team at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice for taking such great care of Ryan during this difficult time.
