Ruth Elaine Knapp Wallace was born on April 3, 1924. She died on Friday, May 15, 2009, at age 85. Elaine was a resident of Baton Rouge, a dental assistant for several years and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Malcolm Wallace; two daughters and their husbands, Betty and Clyde Cockerham, of Watson, and Debbie and John Versen, of Baton Rouge; a son and his wife, Raymond and Laurie Knapp, of Pride; daughter-in-law, Peggy Knapp, of Baton Rouge; and three stepdaughters, Irene Aubin and husband Barry and Kay Burgess and husband Michael, all of Denham Springs, and Shirley Wallace, of Watson. She had 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Effie Albin Navo and Daniel E. Ned Navo; first husband, Raymond H, Knapp; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Joe Rinaldo; a son, Melvin L. Knapp; three grandchildren, Randy Lott, Lori Welch and Vicki Knapp; two sisters, Mary Alleman and Laura Cazes; and a brother, Thomas Navo. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home on Sunday, May 17, was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting continues at the funeral home on Monday, May 18, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev.
