Ruth Romain

She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, grandmother, aunt and friend. A resident of St. Gabriel and a native of Bayou Goula, she died at 4 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 77. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 19, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10:30 a.m. Survived by two daughters, Jennifer Felps, son-in-law son at heart Jim Allen, and Vernette Lejeune and former son-in-law, Billy Lejeune; two sisters, Mary Lee Lewis and husband Lester, and Cecile Acosta; two brothers, Albert and Augustine Lopez Sr.; and a grandchild, Brandy Lejeune. Preceded in death by her husband, Vernon J. St. Romaine; parents, Albert and Leontine Lopez; a daughter, Phyllis Allen; seven brothers, Joseph Sr., Harry, Edward, Randolph, Wilfred, David and Robert Lopez; and six sisters, Carmelite Lopez, Angeline Soileua, Lydia Falgoust, Rose Tuminello, Flavia Moran and Catherine Banker. She will be missed by everyone whose life she touched. We have no doubt that our Lord welcomed Ruth with the words, Well done thou good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your master.
