Russell "Rusty" Ramsey

Russell William (Rusty) Ramsey passed away unexpectedly on the morning of Friday, November 23, 2018 at his home in Zachary, LA. “Rusty” was born in Birmingham, Alabama on December 12, 1960 to John Franklin “Bo” Ramsey and Barbara Jean Favor (Akers).

“Rusty” is survived by his wife of 26 years, Alice Faye Burroughs Ramsey of Zachary, LA; mother and stepfather Jean and Jack Akers of Birmingham, AL; sister Jo Alice Langston of Birmingham, AL; uncle and aunt Russell R. (Sonny) Ramsey and Faye R. Ramsey of Denham Springs, LA; along with many other family members and friends, too many to list.

“Rusty” was preceded to his final resting place by his father, “Bo” Ramsey; his grandfather, Russell “Shorty” Ramsey; his grandmother, Frances Messenger Ramsey and mother-in-law, Ethel Drane.

“Rusty” will be well remembered for his love of family, cars and sports, especially Alabama football.

Visiting hours will be at Resthaven Funeral Home on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 12:00 pm until service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
