Russell J. Normand

Russell Joseph Normand passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 9, 2024 at the age of 81. 

Russell loved hunting, fishing, camping, and outdoor cooking involving the family. He especially looked forward to the annual Thanksgiving fishing trip with his sons, nephews, grandchildren, and other family members.

Russell retired from Exxon Mobil with 35 years of service, but retirement wasn’t for him. He returned to work at Ford-Gelatt for 15 years of service time.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Normand and Ruby Normand Daigle; sister, Betty Dyess; brothers, Gerard and Rex Normand; granddaughters, Alexa and Ava Normand (twin daughters of Kristin and Troy Normand).

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Beverly Thompson Normand; sons, Tim (Teresa), Troy (Kristin), Toby (Jennifer), and Trent Normand (Margaret Brumfield); grandchildren, Elise, Brennen, Trace, Carlee, Carter, and Nikki Normand; step-grandchildren, Lindsey LeSage and Madeline LeBlanc; and 5 step-great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. celebrated by Deacon Joseph Scimeca. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Brennen Normand, Carter Normand, Trace Normand, Shane Normand, Todd Thompson, and Chad Normand. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Dyess and Gary Thompson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Alzheimer’s Service of the Capital Area for Charlie’s Place in Gonzales, LA. The family would like to give special thanks to Michelle, Andie, and Bridgeway Hospice.
