Russell Ferrara

Russell “Rusty” John Ferrara, Sr. passed away at home on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the age of 92.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his children,  Janis Ferrara, Nancy Ballard (Ricky), Russell Ferrara, Jr. (Melissa); daughter-in-law, Darnelle Ferrara; grandfather to Jeremy Ballard (Leslie), Nicholas Ferrara (Ashley), Natalie Ferrara Mullen (Steven), Joshua Ferrara (Gabrielle), Ryan Ballard, Christopher Ferrara (Rebecca), Allison Ballard Meyers (Jeremy), Joelle Ferrara, Claire Ferrara Öhlerking (J.D.), and Julia Ferrara Ali (Michael); and 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Ferrara Stabiler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his wife, Antoinette Marie Ferrara; children, Annette Ferrara and Danny Ferrara; siblings, Joseph Ferrara, Dominick Ferrara, Rose Ferrara Losavio, Carmelite Ferrara Orlando, Jean Ferrara Michel, and Katherine Ferrara Losavio.

Visitation will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70810, on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
