Rudolph J. "Jimmy" Pourciau, Jr. passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at St. Joseph's Carpenter House with his wife at his side.
He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was born on December 12, 1948 in Baton Rouge, LA and graduated from Baton Rouge High. He served the Baton Rouge community as a city police officer from 1974 until his retirement in April of 2003. He then worked as a court security officer at the Federal Court for the Middle District of Louisiana from 2003 until March of 2014.
Jimmy loved life to the fullest and enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, fishing, amateur radio, astronomy, but most importantly he loved his family. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church in Greenwell Springs, LA.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rebecca Crowe Pourciau; son, Adrian Scott Pourciau; daughter, Marcie Ann Carline and husband Kiel J. Carline; grandson, Kole Hallie Carline; step granddaughter, Sadie Nikole Carline and step grandson, Brad Kiel Carline; sisters, Janet Anderson and husband Charley, and Peggy Ebbert; brothers, Mark Pourciau and Warren Pourciau; and many nieces and nephews.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Beverly Pourciau; brother-in-law, Mike Ebbert; and sister-in-law, Margo Pourciau.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Resthaven Funeral Home from 9:00am until funeral service at 10:00am celebrated by Fr. Mike Moroney. Interment to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Pallbearers will be Don Fauntleroy, Dennis Kelly, Doug Pourciau, Jim Cruse, Glynn Mayers, and Gerald Laird.
