Ruby Beverly

Ruby F Beverly daughter of Augustine Tillman Jackson and James Jackson was born on September 20, 1936, in Maringouin, LA. she was the second oldest of four, proceeded by eldest brother Edward Scott Sr., youngest brother Percy Kirk Sr. and youngest sister Lynette Jackson King. Up until the age of six she began learning by attending an old schoolhouse with her eldest brother Edward and his peers. Just by being present amongst them she picked up on basic math and reading skills. At age six Ruby was relocated to New Orleans La. where she lived the majority of her life story. Growing up in New Orleans she attended Booker T Washington High School and later Graduated from Meadows Draughon College where she graduated in Business Administration. She landed a job in a sewing factory where she worked for a while and then married her husband McNeal Breaux Jr. and together, they had two children, daughter Nadier Breaux Martin and son Algernard Anthony Breaux. She then left the sewing factory and found employment with Social Security Administration of New Orleans where she became a Claims Case Manager which is where she worked until she retired. She and McNeal separated, and she married again to Edward Beverly who both proceeded her in death. In 2005 after hurricane Katrina ravaged New Orleans, she took up residence in Baton Rouge La. where she settled until she took her final rest on June 3, 2022. Ruby loved life and a good cup of coffee. Some of her favorite hobbies included watching Westerns, Shopping, Publishers Clearing House, going to Restaurants, Traveling, Family Gatherings and most of all spending time with her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, she loved them all and cherished every moment with them. Ruby loved to inspire and embrace family, friends, even strangers and rarely missed an opportunity to do so. Helping many along the way never ceased to bring her joy.

Loved ones who proceeded her in death include Grandfather Alec Tillman and Grandmother Ada Tillman. Both parents Augustine Jackson and James Jackson. Aunts:  Annie Tillman and Lucille Jefferson. Uncles: Johnny Tillman Sr., Alfred Tillman and Allen Tillman. Followed by her Brothers, Edward Scott Sr. and Percy Kirk Jr. along with Cousin Lindsey Chapman Sr.  Also, her husbands McNeal Breaux Jr., and Edward Beverly. Also, nephew Kevin Scott.

Presently residing with us is her cousin Janice Tillman, sister Lynette King. Sister-In-Laws Brenda Warmsley, Almeda Baptiste. Her nieces Renata Jackson, Kimberly Kirk, Racheal Scott, Sharon Scott, and Jennifer Hayes. Her nephews Edward Scott Jr. and Melvin Hayes Jr. Also, here to carry on her Legacy is her daughter Nadier Breaux Martin and her son Algernard Breaux Sr., Her Grandchildren Wayne Martin, Melissa Martin, Algernard Breaux Jr, Vance Breaux, and McNeil Breaux. Followed by her great grandchildren Nia Williams, Arielle Williams, Malasia Martin, Ziona Martin, Eva Breaux, Venice Breaux, Eli Breaux, Gabrielle Breaux, and Jerimiah Breaux. Also, a host of other family, cousins, and friends.

The Services well be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on June 18 ,2022. 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA. Private family visitation will be held from 8:30- 9am. The visitation will then open to the public from 9:00 until 11:00am, with the service starting at 11:00am. Repast will be held at family home following the funeral.
