Ross Anthony Grand, 49 years old, died Saturday the only way that seemed fitting by doing exactly what he loved most: flying. At times like these, a repeated sentiment is "I just have no words." Well that is not the case when it comes to our beloved Ross Grand.
The words, stories and beautiful sentiments that have been used to describe this amazing man are loving, generous, talented diver, avid hunter, playful, charismatic, fisherman, reliable friend, selfless, beaming, life of the party, single barrel, natural pilot, captain, politically incorrect, loving brother, great nephew, "Crocodile Grand," daring, crawfish-sucking, adoring father, creative chef, awesome boss, world traveler, perfect son, one of a kind, adventurous, gun-loving, animal-loving, rule-hater, nature-loving, swamp-stomping, "Hemingway-esque," outdoorsman, loving uncle ... And the best fiancé, lover, soul mate, and best friend anyone could ever have. Survived by his fiancée and soul mate Gina Estep Landry, J.W. Grand, father, and wife, Barbara, Sandy Hebert, mother, Rochelle Grand, daughter, Rylie Elizabeth Castille, granddaughter, Shane Hebert, Tab Hebert, Dawn Hebert Beasley, siblings, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by Krista Owens, sister, and L.A. Hebert Jr., stepfather and Sybil Grand, grandmother. Ross's memorial services will be held on Sunday, April 17, at 3:00 pm at Resthaven in Baton Rouge, LA. In the true generous spirit of Ross, please consider donating to Dreams Come True of Louisiana.
