Roslyn Maranto

July 11, 1960 — April 19, 2018

"There is no sudden passing we can bear. There is no heartfelt pain we can withstand. There is no familiar loss we do not lament. Yet there is no true and Godly love we do not cherish." V. Hampton, Jr. (4/19/2018)

We are all stardust, divinely created by the Lord God, designed to shine and give light to our fellow man. To love and be loved, and to instill a part of our light within each other.

This beautiful, faithful child of God, Roslyn Anne Perry Maranto, is our universe, a wondrous collection of bright stars to all she leaves behind to cherish her every memory and her every moment - A light to her husband, retired Sgt. Charles Edward Maranto, Sr., whose eyes found within that light, warmth, joy, peace, beauty and a boundless love that will know no end. A light to her daughter, Jennifer Maranto, and son-in-law, Jonathan Hembree, to brighten her smile and show her the path that would guide her towards her future. A light to her son, Charles Maranto, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Nicole Maranto, that no matter how far in this life he traveled, he could always find his way home. A light and a beacon to her grandchildren, Bayleigh Maranto, Blaze Marceaux, Justin Jones, and Joseph Zimmerman. She is also survived by her siblings, Russell Perry, James Perry, Mark DeLee, Steve DeLee, Michelle (Dean) Rice; her aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends; and her dearest friends, Dee and Dale Clavier.

She is preceded in passing by her parents, Estelle DeLee (Archie DeLee) and Wayne Perry; her maternal grandparents, Myrtle and Percy Williams; and paternal grandmother, Julia Perry.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 11:00am until funeral service at 2:00pm. Burial will immediately follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Pallbearers will be Charles Maranto, Jr., Terrance Watkins, Kevin Maranto, Patrick Maranto, Jonathan Hembree, Jeremy Montelius, and honorary pallbearer, Vernon Hampton, Jr.

The warm and loving presence of her light shall be felt by her family, her friends, and every soul blessed or fortunate enough to have been within her presence. We stand as a family in faith and love, for her light is not lost to us, but has returned to rest in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, in whom our faith and peace is found…

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Gerald Miletello, the entire oncology staff at Baton Rouge General, and Hospice of Baton Rouge for the care and dignity that they provided.
