Rosemary Tomeny

Rosemary Inness Tomeny, 82, a native of Donaldsonville, LA, and living in Baton Rouge since 1976 entered into Eternal Life on August 14, 2024, at 9:11 AM, after a brief bout of cancer. She was a 1960 graduate of Ascension Catholic HS in Donaldsonville, LA and then went on to obtain a degree in education at the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now ULL). She worked for the Catholic Life Center as an Assessor in the Tribunal in Baton Rouge, LA. 

She loved the Lord Jesus has been a faithful supporter of the Family Missions Company since its founding. She was an avid world-traveler and enjoyed playing cards. 

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Patrick E. Tomeny, Sr.; parents, Roy Inness, Sr. and Rosemary Allen Inness; parents-in-law Dr. Frank O. Tomeny, Sr and Hazel Normand Tomeny; her older brother Roy Inness, Jr. (Ret-AF); brothers-in-law Phillip Gautreaux, Frank O Tomeny Jr., Michael Tomeny, and Timothy Tomeny; sisters-in-law Deanne Inness, Nell Tomeny Hymel, and Susie McCall Tomeny; grandson John Paul Luke Tomeny, and son-in-law Michael J. Donahue. 

She is survived by her sister Susan Gautreaux, Sisters-in-law Annell Tomeny, and Robbi Lee Tomeny. She is also survived by twenty-one nieces and nephews and their numerous children. 

She married her high school sweetheart, Patrick E. Tomeny, Sr. in 1962 and they were married for 53 years. They have five children, Patrick Jr., a physician in Cullman, Alabama, Jody, a retired teacher in Arizona, Courtney, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Tricia, an occupational therapist, and Brennan, a graduate of Colorado State University in finance. Rosemary has eighteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren with one on the way. Patrick Jr. and wife Nelly are the parents of Nathalie, Patrick III, Andrea, Rev. Matthew Tomeny MIC (LT,USNR), Claire, Mary, Joseph, Mark, and Joshua. Jody is married to Tony Mayer and they are the parents of three children, Madison, Christian, Emily Elizabeth, and two step-children, Courtney and Shane. Courtney and her husband Dennis Raffray are the parents of two sons, Ryan and Dylan. Tricia has two daughters, Caroline and Molly. Brennan has one son, Cayleb. 

The family would like to thank Dennis Babin for his loving support for the last several years. 

Religious services will be held this Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville, LA, beginning at 10 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 PM.
