Rosalyn Fagan

Rosalyn Simmons Fagan, a native of Poplarville, MS and a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023 at the age of 104.  She retired as a schoolteacher, gaining a B.S. and M.S. in Home Economics and a M.S. in Education for both lower and upper grades.  She was part of many professional organizations, as well as a member of the Episcopal Church, and Bridge Clubs.  She enjoyed reading, bridge, symphony, and travel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Neill Fagan; her children, Walter Louis Fagan, and Rosalyn Neill Fagan Wright; her parents, Louis Franklin Simmons and Ada Reynolds Simmons; and her four sisters and one brother.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Fagan Hebert; 9 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at St. James Place who helped make her life so wonderful.  The 6^th floor palliative care staff at the Baton Rouge General Hospital, who eased her passing.
