Rosalyn Simmons Fagan, a native of Poplarville, MS and a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023 at the age of 104. She retired as a schoolteacher, gaining a B.S. and M.S. in Home Economics and a M.S. in Education for both lower and upper grades. She was part of many professional organizations, as well as a member of the Episcopal Church, and Bridge Clubs. She enjoyed reading, bridge, symphony, and travel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Neill Fagan; her children, Walter Louis Fagan, and Rosalyn Neill Fagan Wright; her parents, Louis Franklin Simmons and Ada Reynolds Simmons; and her four sisters and one brother.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Fagan Hebert; 9 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at St. James Place who helped make her life so wonderful. The 6th floor palliative care staff at the Baton Rouge General Hospital, who eased her passing.
