Rosalie Nyerick

May 3, 1926 — May 4, 2015

Rosalie M. Nyerick quietly passed from 89 years of this earthly life into the peace and presence of our loving God on May 4, 2015. She was a native of Bristol, CT, and resident of Baton Rouge, LA.

Rosalie was a lifelong, devoted Catholic and member of St. Patrick Church. She worked as a miscellaneous machine operator in Bristol, from the age of 15 until her choice to fully retire at the age of 80, when she moved to Baton Rouge. Always generous, she cared for relatives and friends, and sponsored children in the Big Buddy Program. She was also a Salvation Army volunteer. Rosalie served in official capacities in the United Workers Union over the years to help improve quality and benefits for factory employees. She was mostly noted for her all occasion's cakes, especially wedding cake creations, winning notoriety in published articles honoring their intricate design.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Sharron Hosea Bickham of Baton Rouge, LA; son, Thomas Nyerick of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren, Cmdr. Lonnie (Deanna) Hosea of Chesapeake, VA, Dr. Stephen (Christine) Hosea, Dr. Gregory (Rena) Bickham of Baton Rouge, LA, Benjamin Bickham of Rayville, LA, Crystal, Cory, and Shera Nyerick of St. Petersburg, FL; and great grandchildren, Jenna, Camille, Matthew, MaryFrances Hosea, and Elizabeth Bickham.

The family requests that visitation hours be observed on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursdat, May 7, 2015, at 11:00 AM, at St. Patrick Catholic Church and will be officiated by Father Matt Dupre.

Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

As Rosalie was a selfless giver all her life, she would appreciate a donation or a giving act for persons in need, in lieu of flowers. She always said, "You will be blessed when you are a blessing."
