Ronald Andrew "Mike" Mika, 72, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA and former resident of Salem, NH, passed away on September 7, 2017.
He graduated from Salem High School in Salem, New Hampshire in 1963 and attended Louisiana State University. While attending LSU he met the love of his life Ann Buquet and they were married for 52 years. Mike loved to fly and was interested in experimental aircraft along with his best friend John Garruto; LSU Tiger Football; fishing at his Grand Isle camp with family and friends; and was known among his friends as quite the "MacGuyver" with electronics. Because of his unique talent with electronics, he started and maintained proprietorship of System Service Co. a subsidiary of Audio of Baton Rouge, Inc. in 1967.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents Henry Joseph Mika and Amy Goldfield Mika of Salem, New Hampshire and his son Henri Andre Mika of Chicago, Illinois.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Buquet Mika, his brother and sister-in-law Richard and Jo Mika of Salem, New Hampshire, a niece Lori Crutchfield of Salem, New Hampshire; his son Allen Mika and daughter-in-law Denise Mika of Huffman, Texas; daughter-in-law Jami Mika of Zeeland, Michigan and longtime SSC Technician Kirk Fryou.
A bench side memorial will take place at Resthaven Funeral home on August 15th, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, donor #11064753 at 800-822-6344 in his memory.
The family also wishes to extend our sincere and heartfelt thanks to Dr. Carl Luikart and Judi Hicks Drell, that have given us the needed warm support and special friendship and our Angel Ladies that took great care of Mike for the past 6 months.
